Description The Article Review for the semester is used to open your eyes to additional information outside of that which is specifically covered in the text book; yet, is very important to the database industry. This semester - your research paper topic is the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which was enacted some time ago, but took effect in May 2018. NOTE: the assignment document contains all the links you will need to gather information to formulate your paper. Seeking out additional content will only result in you taking additional time and is unnecessary to the level of content needed for this Article Review. The assignment document is: ArticleReview.pdf This document linked below, describes, both in words & visually - what a basic research paper might look like. You will see "grayed" out text at the top of each page which describes the page you are looking at... DO NOT take those literally by adding something like that to your paper. In fact - you should not used this paper as a 'copy/paste' resource... it is a guide, not something you start with. End goal? - Title page - take ownership of your work - Body content pages - the real work goes here - Resources page - where you obtained your knowledge Example Research Paper (pdf). How-to: Cropping and Pull-quotes Grading Concepts: - Title page - Limited or missing, 5pts - Reference page - Limited or missing, 5pts - Content - Well thought out and structured with clear information points, maximum: 40pts - Limited, low content, not well defined structure, maximum: 20pts Use a spelling/grammar checker... - I don't normally take points off for spelling - but I do if there was zero/low effort toward this step. Too much "copied" - potentially 0 pts - be careful... (see college policy on plagiarism) - I welcome you to add ideas from the reference material, with credit due and with that content clearly defined as not yours. - There is a limit... and I generally use the 1520% rule. Content from others should be less than 15%. - You should be formulating your own words, with 'hat tips' to the reference material. A good way to think about the use of content from others (e.g. pull quotes)... Author ' x ' said this about product ' y ' opening paragraph) Product ' y ' is the most special product
