Design, as reasonably as possible, a distillation column, which will be operated continuously to recover ethyl acetate ester from a 43.52.7 mole % ethyl acetate Ethyl acetate-Ethanol feed. The 12604%kg/h feed is pumped into distillation column at 57.32.8C. The overheads product stream needs to be at a minimum economic purity of 58.11.2 mole\% ester and the bottom stream has to be at a minimum economic purity of 5.01.4 mole % ester. The distillation column will be operated at a total pressure of 1013.1kPa and is expected to have a typical overall column efficiency of 70%. The average observed plate pressure drop 1.410.8kPa, and the minimum liquid flow is 602.2% of the peak rate both in the rectification and stripping regions in the column.
