outer diameter and of the same thickness shrunk on to it by heating and allowing to cool. If the
interference pressure approaches zero at a rotational speed of 3,000 R.P.M., calculate:
(i) The radial pressure at the interface when the disc and ring assembly is stationary.
(ii) The difference in diameter of the mating surfaces of the ring and disc before assembly.
Given, for both disc and ring:
Young's modulus E=207GNm2, mass density =7470kgm3,v=0.3.
