Details : An absorber is used to remove acetone from a nitrogen carrier gas. The
feed, with acetone weight fraction 0.213, enters at a rate of 500kgh. The
absorbing liquid is water, which enters at a rate of 1000kgh. The exit gas
stream is 0.8wt% acetone and 2.9% water vapor. The liquid stream
containing water and acetone from the absorber is fed to a distillation unit. If
the distillate product contains 98.0% of the acetone coming from the
absorber and its weight fraction in the stream is 0.991,
Task :a) Draw a detailed flowsheet of the process, identifying all the in- and
outflows.
b) Find the flowrates of the gas and liquid outlet streams from the absorber.
c) What are the distillate and bottoms product flowrates?
d) Discuss your results. State whether they are reasonable.
e) Give information about the gas absorption unit operation(including
