Consider the following set of requirements for the "Alumni Relations" systems. The system must maintain information about each alumna (name, address, phone, email, sex, graduation date, degree obtained, major, current employment, salary range, etc.) The system must maintain information about departments (and their degree programs), colleges and in the case of IU campuses. The system must maintain information about companies. Companies (e.g., company representatives such as HR liaison) can register, post positions, (document), and specify the skills they are looking for, and be able to search for suitable candidates. Company representative must be verified and activated by the system administrator of our system before their information becomes visible to alumni and students. In other words, when a new company representative registers in the system we need to alert the system administrator. The system should accommodate academic departments' need to communicate with its graduates, notify them of upcoming events, job opportunities, new graduate programs, and to perform its annual alumni survey of graduates and alumni. The system should accommodate alumni (and graduating seniors) who would like to maintain their resume as well as their skill set in the system. Additionally, the system should allow alumni and graduating seniors to search for job postings in the system (e.g., by keyword or by skill set). The system should accommodate employers who would like to post new positions to the system. Additionally, the system should allow employers to search for potential employees (alumni and graduating seniors). Employers should be able to search the database based on specific fields or browse through resumes by graduation year, last name, etc. The system should accommodate role-based access to the data (. Stored data such as alumni/student address, phone number, should be encrypted in the database (students may choose to put that information in their resume as clear text).
