Students will analyze the case as it is related to the supervisory or larger issues involved. Develop an action plan which would employ the appropriate supervisory behaviors, skills, or resolutions to the case. Minimum of four pages.

Things covered in Weeks 1-7

Week 1 - Develop and defend a recruitment plan for sponsors and/or coaches. Justify the need for clear job descriptions. Develop and enhance job descriptions for athletic program employees and sponsors. Develop and defend the importance of a pre-season meeting.

Week 2 - Develop a plan for the recruitment and employment of coaches/sponsors. Provide and evaluate the professional development of full- and part-time coaches and support staff (faculty and non-faculty). Develop mentoring programs for coaches. Develop and enhance job descriptions for athletic program employees and sponsors.

Week 3 - Discuss a rationale for the evaluation form for coaches and sponsors that you have selected and/or developed. Demonstrate competency in identifying and gathering appropriate assessment data. Collect and evaluate quality; time and location for gathering data from student athletes, parents; etc. as part of the assessment process. Develop and enhance job descriptions for athletic program employees and sponsors.

Week 4 - Develop and implement evaluation processes appropriate for athletic/activities programs. Justify evaluation processes utilized to evaluate athletic/activities programs.

Week 5 - Develop and justify a procedure for coaching interviews. Demonstrate competency in the assessment of office personnel as applicable. Develop an understanding of the importance of coach/sponsor evaluations.

Week 6 - Develop and defend policies for coaches wishing to attend professional coaching clinics and seminars. Develop and defend guidelines for non-faculty coaches wishing to attend professional coaching clinics and seminars. Justify the need for professional development for coaches and non-faculty coaches. Understand the importance of evaluation and evaluating all coaches in all programs.

Week 7 - Develop a process for recruiting non-certified personnel for the athletics/activities program. Develop procedures and processes for managing non-certified personnel for the athletics/activities program. Develop a plan for assessing the training needs of non-certified personnel for the athletics/activities program. Devise a training process to support the training of non-certified personnel for the athletics/activities program.
