A company has asked you to investigate the different options for launching an SMS service. They are unsure about whether to use HTTP, Java or PHP.

 

Objectives includebeing able to:

 

• Send and receiveSMS in variousforms

 

• Access the recipient respond section without password authentication

 

• Review all message statuses in real-time.

 

Four possible APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) that have beensuggested include:

 

• Twilio SMS API

 

• Telnyx API

 

• MessageBird API

 

• ClickSend (Inteltech) API.

 

The company would like to launch the SMS service within the next six months and have acquired the necessary funding from stakeholders and investors.

 

Case Study E - Progress report

It has beenthree months since the launch of the newSMS service andtime to gatherfeedback.

 

Data collected indicates:

 

 

• 85% of SMSswere sent successfully

 

• 32% of company SMSs received a replyfrom the used requesting more information

 

• 12% of enquiries turned into sales

• Users have reported overall satisfaction with the service and said they prefer this communication to speaking on the phone

 

• Colleagues have commented that it doesnot take as longto deal with issuesvia SMS
