The chief operations officer for Mega Mart discount retail chain noticed some substantial turnover in employees staffing the express oil change garage at their super stores. She is concerned the time spent initially training the technicians who work the garage floor might be wasted if these staffers quit prematurely. wants to predict the number of express oil changes the company's trained technicians each typically perform during a regular work shift, presuming a steady stream of customers is available. The following sample data was collected, with the independent variable, x, representing the number of weeks an employee had worked since receiving some initial job training, and the dependent variable, y, representing the number of autos serviced daily with express oil changes during a regular work shift.
