Directions: Take a photograph of an object or a place (but not a person, please!), and in one paragraph,use words todescribe that object or place as it is shown in the photograph. An *object* can be anything: a cookie jar, a pair of shoes; a *place* can be a room, or a street scene, for example. Pleasedo not describe alivingperson, and do not describe something from memory.What you describe should be in front of you,and, unless you are referencing an event that took place in the past, most of the verbs describing the object or place should be inpresent tense(review the Week 1 lecture).

Use language to create a vivid image so the reader can mentally visualize the selected place or object.You should describe it so well that the reader would not have to see the photograph.
