Directions: You are to design and plan for analysis that tests a hypothesized value for some single-population parametric measure of your choice from the contexts of consumer/retail business or financial/economic services. In other words, you are preparing to test a hypothesized mean value. It is not, however, necessary or expected that you conduct or carry out this study; just plan it in detail. Frame a simple, specific research question centered on testing the reasonability of your selected parametric value from a larger population, presumably involving a sufficiently big data set so that sampling is expected. Any examples from class, such as Domino's pizza, are exempt; any examples from class resources or the text must be adjusted to your own original version. Although it may be reasonable and realistic to assume that the population standard deviation is apparently unknown, let's utilize the range rule to estimate lowercase sigma as a worst-case scenario. Therefore, which probability distribution is appropriate, regardless of sample size, since we can indeed establish an estimation of population standard deviation? Then, devise a detailed plan for all stages of this research study, including appropriate information and explanations. You will report your plan in the following manner, submitting your explanation or description of each step in the process, preferably in a single well-written, formally structure sentence free of errors and slang. Some calculated items may require only the numerical value reported; however, some justifications may still be requested. You will submit utilizing the online test feature in Blackboard Be prepared with single-sentence or statistical answers to all of the following questions as you reflect on your proposed research designing in Items #1 through #11, and then as you respond to prompts about rejection rule decision-making in Items #12 through #20. Please note that for Items #12 to #20, do not use any data you may have collected, simply respond to the prompts as presented to you. Again, you are not expected to conduct your experiment or research study. 1. What is your research question stated verbally in a complete sentence? 2. What is your research question stated symbolically as null and alternative hypotheses? Each hypothesis should be written symbolically and concisely with as few keystrokes as necessary to convey the conjectures. 3. Which type of test will be utilized for this testing: one-tail-left, one-tail-right, or two tail? Justify this choice. 4. What level of significance will be utilized, for instance 1% or 5%? If a non-standard alpha level is preferred or appropriate, please explain. 5. Determine the one or two critical values, rounded to the nearest thousandth. 6. Make a reasonable estimation of the range of the population you are studying. Your best guess is acceptable as a worst-case scenario. 7. Utilize the range rule, where the range is divided by four, to estimate the population standard deviation. 8. What error bound is reasonable and appropriate? Calculate the minimum sample size for estimating a population mean, rounding up. Explain or justify this computation with a corresponding formula. 10. Affirm that the data would be collected utilizing a sampling methodology, rather than simulation, survey or questionnaire, experiment, or census. A census isn't suitable because of the larger population and this is planned as inferential, not descriptive, statistical analysis. 1 1. What sampling technique will be utilized to create this sample? For example, will it be cluster, systematic, convenience, simple random, or one of the other choices? Explain your selection, and the logistics of how it would work in practical terms in no more than a few sentences. 12. State the technical conclusion, expressed as reject or fail to reject, if the test statistic generated from the sample mean taken from your planned sample is more extreme than the critical value. 13. State the contextual conclusion, expressed as reasonable or unreasonable, if the test statistic generated from the sample mean taken from your planned sample is more extreme than the critical value. 14. State whether or not the finding as reported in Items #12 & #13 is statistically significant. 15. State the technical conclusion, expressed as reject or fail to reject, if the p-value generated from the test statistic is larger than the level of significance, alpha? 16. State the contextual conclusion, expressed as reasonable or unreasonable, if the p-value generated from the test statistic is larger than the level of significance, alpha? 17. State whether or not the finding as reported in Items #15 & #16 is statistically significant. 18. State the technical conclusion, expressed as reject or fail to reject, if the hypothesized value falls outside the corresponding confidence interval with confidence level, one- minus-alpha. 19. State the contextual conclusion, expressed as reasonable or unreasonable, if the hypothesized value falls outside the corresponding confidence interval with confidence level, one-minus-alpha. 20. State whether or not the finding as reported in Items #18 & #19 is statistically significant
