Question:
Discuss a critical review. Internationally, since second half of the 2020 Q1, markets have been highly volatile due to the COVID-19 health crisis. S&P500 / NASDAQ / FTSE100 experienced one of the biggest drops on Mar. 23rd, 2020, and then appreciated by almost 60% by early Sept. 2020 from its lowest level in March 2020. One can argue that the drop in March 2020 was primarily driven by investor sentiments. While, if we look at the sectorial level, we can observe that the upswing or simply put, market rally has been primarily driven by the Technology Stocks (mainly FAMAA) and Technology IPOs (Snowflake, JFrog, Lemonade etc.). students are expected to critically discuss how robust and sustainable this rally was and was it driven by the evolving market fundamentals or was it due to investor sentiments. Your report should also include a discussion on the growing importance of Tech sector firms (and IPOs) since the onset of COVID-19 crisis; along with the discussion on how current Tech sector rally is different from the one we experienced during 1999-2000 Dot Com Bubble
