Discuss the evacuation plan for a room that you have been in within a center. Do/did you see exit signs or evacuation directions in the room or in the adjacent hallways? If you were responsible for the building, what steps would you take to develop a building evacuation plan and inform the staff about it? If you were/are using this room as a children's classroom, how would you evacuate the children, and how would you prepare the children for an emergency evacuation procedure without creating anxiety and fear? What issues would you need to consider in order to evacuate children or staff with medical or mobility concerns? Your local chapter of the NAEYC has asked you to give a presentation to its new director discussion group regarding the development of an emergency preparedness plan.
