DISCUSSION

In this activity, discuss resource inventory approaches and systems and determine what might be a good fit for a physical security organization. Based upon tools offered via FEMA's National Resource Hub, or independent research, and any practical system's use you are familiar with/have used/use at a current physical security organization, discuss the following:

1. What systems (e.g., software) and processes (e.g., requirements, higher-level plans, directives), if any, does your organization use to identify, inventory, and maintain accurate resources inventories?
2. How do these inventories affect emergency planning?
3. How often does your organization inventory resources for emergency planning and response activities?
4. Who is responsible for systems and inventory upkeep?
5. If your organization does not have any form of resource identification and inventory, discuss what would be recommended?
6. Why should the organization use certain systems and approaches to identify and inventory resources as part of comprehensive emergency planning?
