Discussion Prompt: Interview Review 

By now you should have conducted the interview as outlined in the previous session. This interview should have helped you identify a topic for your capstone project. In your initial post, summarize the results of your interview, including: 

What questions did you ask your mentor and what issues were discussed in your interview that would lend themselves to a good project topic? How do these issues relate to concepts such as process needs, inventory controls, quality issues, patient/client/customer experience and satisfaction, new business project ideas, staffing, cost containment, and/or a Lean project? 

When you asked, "If you had support for a project plan for one of these, which one would serve you the most?" What was the response? 

Which issue or topic interests you the most? Why? How can you focus this topic for your capstone project? 

What data is available that supports the need for this project? Or would your topic require a needs assessment? Share at least one scholarly source that might document this need. 

What tools does your interviewee's organization use for problem-solving (Lean Six Sigma, process flow analysis, traditional business plans, etc.)? How can these tools be applied to your project? 

What did you find out about the philosophical foundations used in the particular setting and how does this relate/not relate to biblical concepts?
