Discussion question assignment:Responses to discussion question topics should be a minimum of two hundred fifty words each with references (if possible).
Individual project are listed below with instructors' comments. Please help with how to correct it.
- For your individual project, post the purpose of the proposed research project which includes a description of the problem and research objectives (refer to chapter three). The research objectives should be listed in numerical order and going forward the survey questions will address each objective. For example: objective 1 will have several questions underneath it and so on. For the project, you need a narrow focus since this is a 10-week course. Select a topic that is interesting to you. Your survey will address the quantitative side and your focus group will explore the qualitative. Qualitative questions answer the how and why questions. Keep in mind your audience and make sure your topic does notlimit who you can ask to partake in the survey. For example: if your study is about smoking and no one you know smokes, it is going to be difficult.
- Conduct a very brief literature review and post five journal articles that pertain to your individual Marketing Research project along with a paragraph summary (five to nine sentences) and how it relates to your topic. For example: this article has statistics on smokers for the past five years... Try to stay within the past five to seven years. Check the syllabus for referencing in APA.
- Provide an example when a researcher would use each of the following (these can be bullet points and not in paragraph form): (A) Probability Sampling Designs: Systematic Random Sampling, Stratified Random Sampling, Proportionately Stratified Sampling, Disproportionately Stratified Sampling, Cluster Sampling, and Area Sampling; (B) Non-probability Sampling Designs: Convenience Sampling, Judgment Sampling, Quota Sampling, and Snowball Sampling
- Developing a Sampling Plan - Steps: (1) define the target population, (2) select the data collection method, (3) identify the sampling frames needed, (4) select the appropriate sampling method, (5) determine necessary sample sizes and overall contact rates, (6) create an operating plan for selecting sampling units, and (7) execute the operational plan. This can be in bullet format and not lengthy paragraphs.
Complete steps 1-4 for the following:
- Pool: Your neighborhood is considering putting in a pool and wants to know if it should?
- Your local Y (YMCA) is noticing a decrease in people joining over the past few years and wants to know if it needs to add or change (classes and all sorts of things), change price, if location is a factor, an, overall is looking for recommendations? YMCA https://www.ymca.org/
This is the company for my individual project. How my questions need to be clarified, per professor.
1. The company that I have chosen is the company I work for, Amazon.
- Has Prime week increased or decreased in the past 3 years?
- During COVID, was there an increase in customers purchasing products online?
- What are the three top purchase categories consumers are spending their money on for the past three years?
- Was there an increase or decrease in prime memberships in the past three years? Did raising the membership price make an effect on the consumer?
Comment from professor:
Regarding Q#1, your employer or Amazon is appropriate. You will need to clarify these 4 questions, your are off to a good start but need to make these more sprcific. Also are you sure you need #2 about COVID or how does this Q have relevance? Make these changes and let me know during Week 3 (see Q#1 Week 3 DB).
