Discussion response to Choose five words to describe your experience in this course, and explain why you chose each word.

My words

Empathy.

Regulate.

Evaluate.

Wisdom.

Independence.

When thinking about this course overall, these are the words that come to my mind because in order to have emotional intelligence, these words are key to understanding not only ourselves, but other people around us$.$ I chose empathy because it is important to stay connected with our own feelings and to acknowledge others to truly understand where other people come from. It is the beauty of seeing things from a different perspective in an emotional sense. Regulate is another word because I constantly need to be analyzing my own thoughts and feelings along with others so that I can remain balanced and in a positive state of mind. Evaluating is significant because if I do not look at the problem and decipher, it will only get worse. Having the ability to see what$$s wrong within myself is a huge step to moving forward in the right direction. If I feel that someone else is wrong and they are in denial, I know that I shouldn$$t be around that person. Wisdom is powerful because as we age and have experienced multiple settings of different forms of emotional intelligence whether they are good or bad, we are able to learn the lessons necessary to grow as a person through the pain and adversity. Lastly, I chose independence because I personally have the ability to read the room of people and know that I am fine with being by myself and that I do not have to rely on others. I have enough emotional intelligence for my own being to have confidence in myself to validate that I do not always need the reassurance of other people. Please cite in text refernces in apa format
