Divorce is expensive! Not only does the couple have to divide assets while doubling living costs, they are also going to incur legal costs and fees. Many couples try to save money on legal expenses. While an attorney cannot represent both sides of a divorce in most states, an attorney can represent one individual in the couple and the other person can remain pro se (representing him/herself).
