Do the following activity: Pair up with somebody (at home or at school) and take turns being blind. The peron who is not blind should lead the blind person around for about 5 minutes. During this time there should be ABSOLUTELY NO TALKING. After 5 minutes, switch places and do the same thing then answer the following questions:

1. How did it feel when you were blind and being led around.

2. What were some of the things you did as the leader or the person leading you did to make the experience more pleasant.

3. Describe what you think this exercise has to do with caring for schizophrenic clients and where they are likely at in Erickson's Developmental stages.
