do you agree or disagree why or why not. anything meaningful

This podcase caused me to realize how important it is to work career, causes, and community into one's professional career path. It helps give a sense of togetherness while also adding something in that one person deeply cares about. Integrating causes into one's career path helps give them a purpose and something to work for. It is also good to involve the community because it allows more people to know you and stay loyal to you and your company, especially if you are helping out the community. It helped me realize how people should integrate career, community and causes into their career, but how it can help them stay motivated and word to achieve a goal.

2. I think Brown-Philpot is correct with her statement at the end of the podcase. Being a manager at my current position, I have found people want to work more and harder if they are dedicated and have a goal to reach. I always try to come up with ways to motivate my employees and get them to see what I see in the company we work for. Everyone is going to have a different thing that will spark their dedication, motivation and meaning of their job. This works out because everyday there is always ways to improve every aspect of a company or business.

do you agree or disagree why or why not. anything meaningful

In my opinion I believe that this podcase definitely did make me take a step back and really think about how important it is to integrate career, causes, and community into your career path. To start, if you really think about it all three of those topics really do go hand-in-hand together. It really does in the end come down to loyalty between all three of those. In your career, no matter what it is, if you truly care about it you will always remain loyal. Within that career there will always be causes that you personally feel connected to and therefore truly want to make a difference within them. With community you will always feel a sense a loyalty because that area, or those people are the ones who have helped you get the point that you are at.

In regards to Brown-Philpot's quote giving people a sense of meaning within a company and there will always be a business need I feel as though she was completely correct with that statement. When she said that quote she was talking about trying to bring more people from the black community into Google because the prior way that they were recruiting was not working. In some cases something as simple as going to the people rather than bringing them to you is actually the better way to do it. If you go out and show people that they are wanted and cared about then they will do so much more compared to making people compete for you.
