Introduction and Alignment

Throughout the course, you will engage in the critical analysis of case studies presented in the second half of your Strategic Management textbook. Completing case analyses of real-world companies will help you develop your strategic management skills in applied settings. Upon completion of this assignment you should be able to:

• Analyze a business situation from multiple perspectives.
• Calculate and explain key financial ratios as tools for analyzing company effectiveness.
• Explain key concepts related to strategic management, including the concept of competitive advantage.

Background Information

A template is provided for you to use in each case analysis in this course. This template is a Word document and is intended to be the outline followed for each case analysis. The Financial Ratios template, provided as an Excel document, should also be used to provide a basis for assessing, via a ratio analysis, the organizations financial viability related to the case study.

Instructions

1. Download the Case Analysis Template. (attached)
2. In your textbook review Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 and the Financial Ratios section, pages 106-109.
3. In your textbook read the Dominos Pizza case on page 372 and respond to the questions in the Case Analysis Template. (case attached)
4. Download the Case Analysis Template and complete the spreadsheet by filling in the financial statements (the ratios will calculate themselves). The instructions are provided on the template. You will submit the completed Financial Ratios Spreadsheet separately with this assignment, per the instructions below.
5. Focus primarily on the issues developed in the Strategic Management text, Chapters 1 and 2, but respond to all questions asked in the Case Analysis Template in relation to Dominos Pizza, drawing from the information provided on the company in the text (you are not expected to do outside research on the selected company, but rely solely on the information provided in the text).
6. Note that you will be submitting two documents:
   1. the completed Case Analysis Template
   2. the completed Financial Ratios Template
