Don Brown is the owner of a profitable carpentry shop which is outfitted with all the necessary tools and machines to make any kind of furniture. However, business is really slow, and Don is basically broke and is struggling to pay his basic bills. He was just recently divorced from his wife and has to pay $400.00 per month in alimony and child support for his three children. Numerous creditors are seeking payment from him for goods and materials he would have ordered from them. He has his tools and machinery and household goods and a used BMW. He also has a whole life insurance policy which has accumulated a good amount of cash value. If the tools and machinery are valued at $100,000.00 and the household goods $50,000.00, the BMW which is a vintage model $80,000.00 what can he do to eradicate a debt to his creditors of $280,000.00. John is bankrupt and wants to know how to proceed. Advise Don Brown.
