Download the project file PublishBook.mpp. It is a project to publish a childrens book. The project started on April 9th , 2018 and its planned finish date is November 29, 2018 . The current status date has been set to September 27, 2018.

Conduct an earned value assessment to generate the metrics needed to evaluate the progress of this project. These should be your first 3 steps:

1. Open the PublishBook project file using MS Project.

2. Display the task usage sheet with the EVM table. The EVM table is listed on the view tab under tables, other tables.

3. There are a lot of tasks in this project, so filter out all specific task rows so that you can only see the project summary and summary task rows in the task usage table. (Use the dropdown under task name to do this)

Using Microsoft Word, write a summary report of the projects progress to date and estimate what its final cost will be. In your report, include all the information listed on the next slide.

Current status date of this report (Sept 27, 2018)

Planned start date, actual start date, planned finish date and BAC (from Project statistics)

List the summary Tasks that have been completed to date (ignore detail tasks)

Metrics for the project (not individual tasks or summary tasks) in table format:

PV / BCWS, EV / BCWP, AC / ACWP

SV, SPI, CV, CPI

Three charts from EVM report:

Generate EVM report in Project. Change the end-date range for each chart to the status date (Sept 27th)

Copy and paste the charts into the Word document

Description and interpretation of EVM metrics In paragraph format:

Report PV/ BCWS, EV / BCWP, and AC / ACWP for the project (not individual tasks or summary tasks)

Report schedule variance (SV) to date and what that implies in terms of being ahead of or behind schedule.

Report cost variance (CV) to date and what that implies in terms of being over or under budget

Explain which summary tasks caused the most damage to this cost variance (Ignore detail tasks)
