Dr. Lieberman, an industrial-organizational psychologist, wants to test the hypothesis that people who are more satisfied with their jobs have higher job productivity than people who are less satisfied with their jobs. A large corporation allows Dr. Lieberman to administer a job-satisfaction questionnaire to 100 employees’ job-productivity scores, based on ratings by their managers. Dr. Lieberman then examines the relation between job satisfaction and job performance.
