Draw out the list of DNS servers (starting with the root DNS) that your computer contacts. Give these IP addresses (valid IP address, you dont need to figure out the actual IP addresses of these machines). Indicate what your computer requests from each server and what information it receives.
Draw a separate diagram in which you depict your computer, the DNS servers, and the Google webserver give each an IP address (the DNS servers should have the same IP addresses as you used in the diagram for part #1). To keep things simple, connect your computer directly to the internet (no NAT involved). Diagram all the packets (with headers, but no data) that your computer sends in order to resolve the IP address of the Google server and then to contact the Google server.
