duction Welcome to the workplace Volunteering Engineering Program at the Department of the Navy. We are excited to offer our employees the opportunity to give back to the community through volunteering their time and skills to young engineers looking for a future in the engineering field within the Department of Defense. This program is designed to foster a sense of community and camaraderie within our organization, as well as provide our employees with the opportunity to develop new skills and make a positive impact in the lives of the American warfighter by asking some of our Department of the Navy employees in hard to fill vacancies such as our engineering positions which are difficult to fill in certain locations for one reason or another. Normally for hard to fill vacancies it is attributed to one of these five things. Antiquated Hiring Process, Lack of hiring strategy, ineffective recruitment efforts, talent selection process, and home-grown pipelining.
