Due to high demand of blood types AB Positive and O positive, the ARC Society has decided to sell these blood types for $100 and $150 per gallon, respectively. The donated blood is spun in centrifuges to separate it into transfusable components. For the successful separation of the blood components, four ingredients are required. However, separating the blood into different components is not free. The prices of these ingredients, the ingredient units needed for each blood type, and the corresponding available ingredients are given in the following table.

 

a. Calculate the equation for net profit.

b. Formulate an optimization model that will maximize the profit for the ARC Society. (use excel solver)

c. Solve this optimization model by the graphical method (by hand or using a computer program).
