Due to social distancing requirements, we cannot play this game this semester. However, you can still work with the results of last year's classes. Here is how the game is played. There are two teams, and each team has a "rice farm" which is a 2' X 3' rectangle drawn on the chalk board. Each team has 1 new piece of chalk. The game is played in rounds of 10-15 seconds each. In the round the members of the team write the word "rice" in the 2 X 3 rectangle as many times as they can. The letters must be legible and at least 3" high. In the first round the team captain is the only rice farmer. At the beginning of each subsequent round each captain may select one person from the class to add to their farm labor force. At the end of each round I erase any "rice" that does not conform to the requirements, and then count the good crop. We played 6 rounds in ECB 101, fall 2019. Here is the relevant data set:
