During the construction of a major road the main contractor uses two types of trucks to transport materials from a ll site to the construction site. The two types of trucks have different capacities and crew member requirements as shown in the table: Vehicle Type Capacity (m3) Crew required Number Available Incline 300 3 40 Hauler 500 2 60 There are 180 crew members on staff. and all the crew members can operate either of the trucks. In the time frame. each crew member can only take one trip. and each individual truck can take only one trip. The contractor wants to determine the number of trips to be taken with each type of truck to maximise the volume of ll transported.
