During the political season we see a number of different surveys and polls. How do we know whether they are legitimate or not. The survey might be paid for by one party or the other and reflect a partisan viewpoint. The sample space might be contaminated somehow. How do you ensure yourself of a sample space that reflects an accurate representation of the public in general? Is there a reason why some of these poles or surveys are so inaccurate? What influence does this gathering of data have on our opinion and how we vote
