The critical factor in the movement of these supplies was speed. The following table shows the number of planeloads of supplies available each day from each of six supply depots and the number of daily loads demanded at each of five bases. (Each planeload is approximately equal in tonnage.) Also included in the table are the transport hours per plane (where transport hours include loading and fuelling time, actual flight time, and unloading and refuelling times). The objective is to determine the daily flight schedule that will minimize the transport time.
