During the Week 3 Assignment, Project Plan, you chose a topic and cre ated your project plan. In the Week 3 Lesson, you read about location and access and in Week 4, you learned about organizing your digital information and storing that information responsibly. Now it is time to take the work you did in the Week 3 Assignment, Project Plan, and locate and evaluate sources (CO2 & 5) that that will lead to your Week Week 7 Assignment, Final Project.

Part I

Topic

• The topic I would like to explore is ways how to build an effective team as a leader.

Scope and Value

• The scope of my topic includes research of established methods and strategies on how to create an effective team while being on a leadership position.
• The purpose of me exploring this topic is for me to learn also. I have enough experience of being a leader in the military, but I want to learn how leaders in different organizations approach their employees also.

Communication Medium

• For this research, I will be using a PowerPoint presentation.
• I will make sure to avoid using full sentences. I will be using the speaker notes to show what I would say if I were to present the PowerPoint.

Critical Thinking Questions

• What factors are considered as a leader to build an effective team? Are there established organizations that presented their methods to build an effective team? What must a leader possess in terms of traits to be able to cre ate a dynamic and effective team?

Subtopics

• In conjunction with the topic I have chosen, I would also be researching on what characteristics should a leader have to be effective.

Part II

The best possible sources for my presentation would be articles, interviews, and research papers. Articles and interviews about people in a leadership position and how they maintain a dynamic work environment would aid me in making my presentation credible. I would also be looking for research papers on how various kinds of leadership strategies affect employees. To able to present both perspective of an employer and an employee, it would avoid making the presentation about one over the other.

• Find a minimum of three (3) sources. One (1) source must be an academic source and from the APUS Trefrey Library and the other sources must be credible and appropriate for college research.
• Please include robust source summaries in y our own words that explain the contents of the source and the relevance of the source to your topic.
