During your visit to a daycare center, you were observing the activities done during that they for the 3-4 years-old classroom. The educator began her class with different songs during the circle time. Such as good morning teacher and weather song. While singing the songs some students started to yawn and some others started to talk to each other. Mostly because these songs have not change in a while. Then, she started her circle time telling them the activities they will do. She said they will start by doing Math. Which some children were okay, and others started to feel frustrated. Little Mateo was not feeling comfortable with the idea because he does not perform well in this subject. The educator sat Mateo on the table and was trying to teach him how to add. She had the materials ready to work with. She had many beautiful blocks to work with the additions. However, every time she was asking him to count the block, Mateo was not counting appropriately. He started 1,2,2,4,5 and so on. The educator continued forcing Mateo to count with her, but he was starting to be frustrated that everyone around him was finishing their classwork except him. The educator at the end let him go and move to another subject in which Mateo was more comfortable with. They were seeing the life cycle of a butterfly. For this activity, she had them seated on the floor and read the story of a "The Hungry Caterpillar", at this time Mateo was always asking questions about the story. In which the educator took the opportunity to drill the students on what were the stages of the life cycle. After that they moved to the table in which she was working individually with every student. When it was Mateo's turn. She had a page in which the name and arrows were drawn for the child just to place the correct figure animal on the right place. (eggs, larva, caterpillar, and butterfly). Mateo did it easily the first round. So, the educator changed the page, now the page had no pictures only the words of each stage and she asked Mateo to place the items in the right order. He struggled a for a few rounds, he started to get frustrated cause he was not getting them right. Then, his educator calmed him and asked him to remember the story, what happened first and so on. While doing this Mateo was feeling more comfortable and was engaging and get the right answers. After a couple more times of practicing, Mateo was tired and told his educator he was hungry. She looked at the clock and saw it was time to eat lunch. She called all her students to the circle time area, asked them questions such as what the activities were, they did until this moment. Mateo was giving his input and he plainly said he enjoyed more the butterfly activity. She nodded and asked them to make a line to wash their hands and be ready for lunch. You took advantage of that time and ask the educator what the approaches were used during her teaching. Which she responded Scaffolding. She said this is the approach the daycare implements. After analyzing the information above answer the following questions.

1)In which activity you can identify that she was using the scaffolding approach. Support your answer with facts.

2) Why were the students bored while singing in the circle time? What would you have done in her case, taking in consideration the subjects she was teaching?
