Scenario. Soupy is a small company that makes cans of soup. They make three types of soup, Vegetable, Mushroom, and Noodle. The company has three employees that operate the machines that fill the cans. Recently concerns have been raised about an increasing number of cans of soup that do not pass quality inspection. Data has been collected on the following attributes of the cans of soup (see the file Soupy.xls). ID SOUP EMPLOYEE WEIGHT QUALITY An identification number for the chocolate bar The type of soup (Vegetable, Mushroom, Noodle) The employee that operated the machine (Jo, Karl or Lee) Volume of soup in the can (in millilitres). If the soup was deemed to pass quality inspection or not The manager of Soupy is concerned that Karl's cans of soup have a higher defect rate than either of Jo's or Lee's. However, it is possible that other variables may impact this finding. Your role is to investigate the data.
