For this project, you must select an employer organization and research the organization’s employee benefits package (plan).

After you research the organization’s employee benefits package, collect other necessary comparison information, and complete your interviews, you must write a four to six-page report addressing many.

Data Collection: o Organization background (industry, size, geographic, employee demographic, competitors 

o Benefits plan information (policies, handbook, open enrollment materials, communication, collateral) 

o Interview at least two employees to obtain more information about the organization’s benefits and the employees’ feelings and perceptions about the organization's benefits.
Consider these data-related questions:
o What benefits are offered to full-time employees and/or part-time employees? Your report must address discuss at least health, retirement, life, and disability insurance, and time off.
o Were you able to determine the objective of the benefit package? If so, what is it?
o How is the cost of the benefits split between employer and employee? Be specific. Who pays for the benefits? Are the benefits offered of value to the employees interviewed? Why or why not?
o Did the interviewed employees fully understand the cost and value of the package? Why or why not?
o What is the organization’s communication and enrollment plan for the benefits?
• Analysis: Following your collection of the benefits package date and interviews, analyze the data. Ask yourself:
o Are the benefits of accomplishing the objectives as planned, or is there a more effective way? Is the communication process effective? Support your conclusion. Do the employees utilize the benefits? What reaction do you have from your interviews? On a scale of 1-10, 1 being not competitive, and 10 very competitive, where does the selected organization fall from your perspective on benefits? Support your conclusion. (Comparison data?)
o Does it appear the organization is retaining top-performing employees? Why or why not?
• Recommendations: After your analysis, specifically provide at least two to three recommendations for improvement based on your evaluation. The recommendations may be about the benefits offered or not offered for a particular segment of employees, communication process, or cost control. Recommendations must be keeping cost in mind. That is, you should not make a recommendation that is not financially feasible. Be specific and creative, and provide a rationale. Use what you learned throughout the course.
