The first question is as follows. Find the slope of a line connecting the points (1, 6) and (2, 18). To find the slope of the line connecting the points (-1,6) and (2,18), we should use the formula m= y2 - y2/x2 - x1. This will then look like m=18-6/2-(-1). Which will solve down to 12/3, which will then equal 4. So our slope is 4, or m=4. The second question is. A car begins a trip at t = 0 hours and travels 90 miles and stops at t = 5 hours. What is the average speed? To solve this equation we simply need to put the average speed over the average time, which will be 90 miles/5 hours. When divided we get an average speed of 18 miles per hour. My topic is travel. Imagine you're planning a road trip and you want to know how far you can travel in one day, in this situation we can use a linear equation to calculate our distance traveled. Let's use the equation d=rt, where d = distance traveled, r= average speed (in mph) and t=time elapsed (in hours). To solve this equation you can input your average speed, and time elapsed to know how far you've traveled. Lets say I'm going to California and I'm driving at 90mph, after 5 hours have elapsed I want to know how many miles I've traveled. All I have to do is multiply 90mph by 5 hours, which
