Each student will be assigned a material that needs to be transported to a specific location and you will be responsible for completing a 3-4page logistics plan for your organization. The materials assigned can include bulk commodities, large items, liquids, perishable food items or traditional pallet products. Your will need to determine the appropriate modes of transportation that will be needed, the equipment that will be used, the transfer locations, the cost structure, the length of time needed for transportation and list the necessary documents needed to complete the process. Focus should be on using the concepts, tools and knowledge from the course. All components of a transportation plan must be addressed as though it was being presented to senior leadership in an organization.
