Each term has two sections for defining: 1) The general, basic, or fundamental definition of the assigned term as found in the academic literature, and 2) Illustrate how the term might be used specifically in MFT and the clinical setting. Your examples can come from academic sources or be created by the student hypothetically. The formatting for the terms is listing the TERM followed by 1. Basic Definition: ... and 2. MFT clinical application: The publication manual for the APA must be followed for all references (paraphrasing and full referencing). The use of direct quotes is discouraged strongly. Quoting the authors directly does not reflect the students' understanding of the term. A single, separate section at the end of the assignment entitled References (centered) is required.
