EagleTours provides guided tours in the Seattle - Vancouver corridor. The majority of the tours are provided to hotels and other resellers in the region, however sometimes they deal directly with tourists looking to book a tour. Sales are typically 20% cash, and 80% on account. Of the sales on account (80%), half are collected 1 month after the sales while the other half is collected 2 months later. Supplies and other consumable items (provided during tour) are typically purchased and paid for 1 month before the sales. Cost of supplies and other consumables usually work out to be 40% of sales. Monthly operating expenses are $60,000 a month. At $35,000 salaries is the biggest operating expense. Depreciation on equipment works out to be $5,000, insurance is $4,000, rent is $6,000, utilities is $2,000 and advertising is $8,000 monthly. EagleTours is planning to run a one time special promotion at the beginning of the Summer season. They intend to spend $40,000 in May and another $40,000 in June to promote their various adventure tours.
