Education has always been important. In the case of a secondary school, a person is more likely to attend a school near their place of residence, while for a university he may go to look further. Let's say you have the opportunity to choose from several universities and you want to choose the best one. How will you "measure" which is the best? Let's say you are willing to go to college as far as you need to go. What parameters best describe the university and how will you measure them? Does the number of students matter? The age of the teaching staff? The degree of difficulty of the study? Which parameters are more important and what are their amplitudes? Tasks: 1. Create a model that determines the ranking of the university 2. Your model must be able to accept data for several universities and your model will provide information on which university is the best 3. Together with the model, submit a short description of how another person, who is neither an expert in modeling nor in the evaluation of higher education institutions, could use the model created by you. Things to submit: 1. Model created in Excel file 2. Data on at least three (real) universities are entered into the model and the result is obtained 3. Description of the use of the model, not more than on 2 pages 4. Report on model operation / results, no more than 1 page Modeling process: Describe the problem Describe the math problem Formulate a mathematical model Perform calculations Interpret the results Check / evaluate the operation of the model Present the results The model created should be realistic, one that you could give to a high school graduate for real use in choosing his / hers next university and you would be sure that the choice made by the student will not be regrettable!
