Effective management of an organization depends on defining, gathering, and analyzing information that provides feedback on current performance as well as projects future needs. Much of the data used by organizations is quantitative, meaning that it comes from simply counting something or a physical measurement. Sometimes, however, the most useful information is qualitative, for which special methods for gathering and analysis have been deployed.
