Effectively listening is a skill that most people may not realize is crucial to effective communication. IN today's age of multi-tasking,I have come to realize that oftentimes I am not fully present in conversations.By not being fully present I miss the opportunity to engage and perhaps learn new and important information. This information can be about the person or the topic at hand.In turn,there have been times,when I have been involved in very important conversations for me that the other party was either multi-tasking or not fully involved. This left me in disappointed and frustrated that my voice was not heard.As a leader,if am not practicing good listening habits,how can I accurately communicate the needs and goals to my team,as a leader I should strive to ask questions that confirm clarity around a deliverable. Finally,it is important in all conversation, that you are perceived as a person who welcome the discussion.
