She also has a part time job working as an administrative assistant in the Quality Control Department of a Fortune Five Hundred Manufacturing Company WIDGETMAKER Inc. that fabricates multicolored widgets for electric automobiles. The company has an outstanding quality assurance program and has won many awards for their products. Each of the company Quality Assurance inspectors is issued a Dell laptop for their workplace use, to record their activities on the shop floor and to catalogue manufacturing quality events for statistical purposes.
Emilys professor at the college has recently given her class an assignment that requires a fairly elaborate statistical calculation. Emily has enjoyed working these studies and is looking forward to completing the assignment on time for the next class session in a week. That evening, when she started the assignment her laptop computer crashed. Her phone call to the Geek Squad resulted in an estimated repair bill of $ dollars copay she has insurance and two weeks to complete the repair. But, Emily really needs a computer.
Coincidentally, every year, her company WIDGETMAKER Inc. donates the companys Quality Assurance used computers to the local high schools.
