Chapter 9 introduces us to the Human Resources Management function. In every organization, we managers are obligated to find and keep talented individuals. Additionally, we must work to make or keep them engaged. The Strategic Human Resources Management Process in chapter 9 describes all of the Human Resources activities necessary to find and keep good people, who will then work hard to achieve the organization's strategies and goals.
For your Intial Post:
- Define employee engagement in your own words.
- Using your own job (or your most recent one) as an example, think about how your experience has been at the company - from the beginning until now. Tell us how you are either engaged - or could be better engaged.
For your Replies:
Reply to at least two other students. Identify how the Strategic Human Resources Management Process from chapter 9, p. 364 is relevant to your fellow students' experience. Note that this can be a practice used well if the person is engaged, or missing if they feel they aren't.
