Employers in the Tourism, Hospitality and Leisure Services Industry require that employees be prepared to sell specific company products and services, and persuade prospective customers of each products features and benefits. A sales presentation requires product knowledge and explanation, persuasion, and a strong call to action.

This assignment will simulate a trade show environment in which companies promote their products to the public.

You will select a product and you will promote it by creating a poster that members of the public (other students) can briefly examine to get an understanding of your product.

Choosing your Product

Select a product to promote. It must be:

Travel, tourism, hospitality or leisure related.

Available for sale online in Canada, on an English-language website.

Cost between $200 and $1000.

Presentation Requirements

Online poster:

Create a poster to describe & promote your product to the public. Format: PDF (1 page/slide) or an Adobe Spark presentation website.

Include a hypertext link or QR Code to access your products web page.

Must make effective use of text AND images.

Must have professional-looking design & appearance.

Tradeshow format:

You will post your poster to a Padlet. (The link to the Padlet has been provided.)

Students will have the opportunity during class time to browse all of the other students displays and

learn about their products, as if we were all attending a virtual trade show.

Target audience:

Consumers just like you: young people who like to travel and have fun, and have up to $1000 to spend on a leisure product.
