Enhanced ERD Exercise BIS 422 Database Management Systems Acme Autos has hired you to create a database to manage car sales at its five branches. Before building the database you conduct a preliminary analysis to identify the entities, relationships, and business rules relevant to Acme. Use the following analysis to create an ERD: Branch Each branch has a BranchID, Address, and PhoneNbr. Employee Each branch has its own unique group of employees. Every employee has an EmployeeID, Name, and DateHired. Acme has two types of employees: salespeople and mechanics. Each salesperson has an AnnualSalesGoal and SalesToDate (sales to date changes daily). Each mechanic has Certifications (a mechanic may hold multiple certifications). At one location, they have a salesman who is also a very handy mechanic. Customer Each customer has a CustomerID, Name, Address, PhoneNbr, and InsuranceCo. Vehicle Each of Acmes branches offers multiple vehicles for sale. Each vehicle has a VehicleID, Make, Model, Year, Color, and Features (vehicles have multiple features). ACME classifies its vehicles into three categories: economy, luxury, and utility. For an economy vehicle, ACME records the MPG. For a luxury vehicle, ACME records PassengerSeats. For a utility vehicle, ACME records 4WD (Y/N). Each vehicle belongs to a single classification. Additional Business Rules Customers purchase vehicles from salespeople. When a vehicle is purchased, PurchaseDate, and PurchasePrice are also recorded.
