Your task is to put yourself in the mindset of the HR director for a previous or current (or future if necessary) employer and think about ethical dilemmas involving HR-related activities that could happen in the organization - both in terms of importance and likelihood. Please note that you are permitted to expand upon thoughts youve already shared in previous forums and/or assignments if applicable. Your submission should have the following sections: Introduction (Per APA 7 do not include this as a heading in paper) Identify the type of organization about which you are writing. You do not need to name the organization, but you should identify the industry in which it operates, approximate number of employees, general categories of employees, and other relevant facts. This section should be one paragraph long. Ethical Dilemma/Issue Identification Identify AND discuss the most important human resource management ethical dilemmas the organization is likely to face regarding the following areas: employment law (Ch. 2), staffing management (Ch. 4-7), employee development (Ch. 8), performance management (Ch. 9-10), and compensation and benefits (Ch. 11-13). You should have two dilemmas/issues for each category (i.e, five categories times two examples for each equals 10 total examples). With the exception of the employment law section, avoid discussing compliance with laws as an ethical dilemma since what is unethical is not always illegal. Remember, the dilemmas/issues you discuss should be a combination of important AND likely to happen, as well as specific to the type of organization about which you are writing. Make sure that you tie-in the examples / relate them to the organization in your example to illustrate that it is important and could possibly happen in that particular organization. In other words, if the example reads as if it could apply to any organization (i.e., generic ethical dilemma/issue), then you need to do a better job tying-in / relating to the organization. Immediately after discussing each identified ethical dilemma/issue, include a section identifying the main stakeholders (internal and/or external) that are impacted by each identified ethical dilemma/issue AND discuss their anticipated viewpoint on how to best solve the ethical dilemma along with any potential biases leading to the viewpoint. Thus, in this section you will be identifying the stakeholder(s), discussing their anticipated viewpoint on solving the dilemma, AND potential biases. Only use professional titles or group labels, do not use individual names.
