ETHICS teaching case, which will be based upon the student's major concentration at Shidler and upon a personal and ethical business or internship related experience

ETHICS teaching case, which will be based upon the student's major concentration at Shidler and upon a "personal" and "ethical" business or internship related experience observed, or heard about from the organization's grapevine.

The experience or observation (virtual experience) should be an ethical dilemma ideally related to a strategic issue confronting the host organization. The ethical dilemma need not have directly involved the student; it can be a dilemma that the student experienced indirectly by learning of the issue from other organizational members.

The case write-up will be 3-4 p long and follow the format and structure of the "Chapter Cases" in the Rothearmel textbook used in the course. This case may be shared in class, and so should be written according to guidelines to protect the confidentiality of both the studied organization and members and stakeholders (i.e. identity of people and organizations held confidential).

GUIDELINES FOR COMPLETING ETHICS CASE TEACHING (TA) NOTE:

Teaching Note that accompanies the Ethics Teaching Case. The Teaching Note should be @ 10 pages in length. The point of the Teaching Note is to provide to any instructor a guide to effectively use the case to enlighten how to manage ethical issues in one's professional live. A helpful Ethical Reasoning Value Rubric is on Pages 13 & 14 below.

The Teaching Note guides the instructor using the Teaching Note to:

1. Bring out the ethical issue so it is well understood

2. Explore the origin of the ethical issue

3. Review the Vision, Mission and (importantly) Values of the organization

4. Identify ethical decision criteria appropriate to consider in this case situation

5. Explore alternative managerial solution options available to the organization

6. Evaluate the solution options against the organization's ethical decision options

7. Plan an Implementation Strategy for the selected solution to this ethical issue

8. Consider alternative organizational strategies designed to prevent the future

possibility of similar ethical dilemmas in the organization by reflecting upon

new organizational guidelines and/or modification of the Vision, Mission and Values.

** I'm not sure how this assignment is supposed to look if someone could give me an example Ethics Teaching Case and Teaching note to guide me in developing my own.
