EXECUTIVE SUMMARY You are asked to develop a balanced scorecard to assess your performance in this course. INSTRUCTIONS 1. You must agree with the ACADEMIC INTEGRITY STATEMENTS provided in the Project folders in Blackboard. Projects will not be marked without student agreement with these statements: I have completed this Project by myself, with no help from any other person or organization. I have kept the work to myself, and have not shared this Project with any other person or organization. I understand the consequences of violating Georgian Colleges academic integrity policies as outlined in the academic regulations. 2. Your balanced scorecard must: be prepared in Microsoft Excel, Word, or PowerPoint, depending on the layout and format you chose. clearly include your full name, student #, course #, and section #, be prepared in English, using proper spelling and grammar, and be uploaded into Blackboard, in the spaces provided in the Project folder. 3. Scorecard submissions are due as follows: Final Scorecard: Wednesday, Aug 9 by 11:59 pm (Eastern) Note: any submission received late (even by 1 minute) will receive a grade of 0. Technical difficulties are not a valid reason for submitting late work. MARKING METHODOLOGY / EXPECTATIONS Scorecards will be marked based on: Quality, appropriateness, and completeness of scorecard components. Spelling and grammatical correctness (in Canadian English). Overall professionalism of submitted work (easy to understand, visually-appealing, etc). Marks will be allocated based on: Final Scorecard: 10 MARKS Overall professionalism of submitted work: 5 MARKS Scorecard total 25 MARKS REQUIREMENTS A balanced scorecard is defined as a performance assessment tool that includes metrics related to customers, processes, and learning and growing, as well as financials (Wiley, page 22). This project requires you to develop a modified, balanced scorecard to assess your performance in this course. The scorecard is modified since there are no customers nor financials to assess, however processes and learning and growing are very relevant to your success in this course. Your scorecard: Must have a minimum of 4 different dimensions (note: grades are not considered a dimension for this project). Must have an objective defined for each dimension. Must have 1 or more KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) defined for each objective. Must have a goal, results, and a numerical score for each objective. Must have some form of visual or graphical representation of your progress against each objective. Must show your progress, which is to be tracked on a weekly basis, starting in Week 3 and through to Week 13. Must also include an appendix showing the detailed results tracked each week. Some ideas to consider: What are your overall objective(s) for this course (beyond simply achieving a passing grade)? What KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) could you develop to track your progress in this course? Feel free to be creative in both your dimensions and your visual representation, as long as your overall objectives and progress are clearly communicated. See the Balanced Scorecard section in the textbook starting on page 22, or do your own research on scorecard layouts (but be sure to reference any external sources). An example: Dimension: Textbook learning Objective: To read the textbook chapters as assigned each week KPI #1: Number of chapters read completely KPI #2: Study notes made per chapter Goal (for KPI #1): completely read 10 / 10 chapters Goal (for KPI #2): study notes completed for 10 / 10 chapters Results: to be tracked each week Score: to be determined each week, based on term-to-date results
