Experimental Design
Purpose Create and describe an experimental design involving a user study for a rigorous UX evaluation. Directions 1. Describe the goal of the experiment. Clearly define the research questions that the experiment will address. 2. For each research question, provide your hypothesis and either data or a logical argument to justify the hypothesis. 3. Clearly define the independent variables that you will control and justify how they will help answer your research questions. 4. Clearly describe and justify the type of the experiment (i.e., within-subject, between- subjects, mixed) and its conditions (i.e., the intersections of your independent variables) 5. Clearly explain how you will assign participants to the experiment conditions and how many cohorts this will yield. 6. Clearly describe the dependent variables and any tools used to measure them. 7. Clearly describe the inclusion and exclusion criteria for participating. 8. Clearly define and justify the target number of participants you would recruit. 9. Clearly describe and justify the entire procedure from informed consent to thanking the participant 10. Clearly describe any materials required during the procedure. 11. Submit your experimental design document (.doc, .docx, or pdf) through eLearning by the deadline indicated above. Scoring The maximum score for this assignment is 10 points, which will be graded as indicated below.
