Explain how this leader used their influencing skills. Did they use influencing more for the good of the organization or for their own personal benefit? One leader I reported directly to at a former organization I worked at that had a very poor approach in communicating feedback to me was the Vice President (V.P.) of Operations. This V.P. would often give me feedback that was unclear and lacked specificity on assignments that he tasked me with. For example, he would say in an angry tone, "This report isn't good enough," without explaining what exactly is wrong or how it could be improved. This kind of feedback is not constructive and left me confused about how to improve. Moreover, he would be inconsistent in his feedback. One day, he might praise me for my initiative, and the next day, he would criticize me for the same behavior. This inconsistency would leave me confusion and made me uncertain about what direction to lead my team. Lastly, he would be overly critical, focusing only on mistakes and never acknowledging successes of me or my team. This approach did demoralize the team members and myself and created a negative work environment
